My Rating: 8/10
Synopsis: An unmanned freight train is reeling on a seemingly unstoppable track heading toward Stanton where a big curve that will ultimately derail it awaits.
With a fitting title, Unstoppable had a pace that is unnerving and exhilarating which made me uncomfortable (in a good way). The concept was not new but the execution of the acts, every step of the way, is quite believable (though I might need some engineers myself to tell me whether the whole thing is accurate enough). The reactions of the characters and the flow of the conversations, (well, the entire narrative I should say) were written very well and they did not disappoint. It’s the kind of movie where you will get stuck in front of it from the beginning till the end. And the casting couldn’t be any better. Denzel Washington is cut out for the role as well as Chris Pine. The supporting characters weren’t bad either especially those that made the stupid mistakes. If you’re looking for those big heart-racing, sweat-inducing scenes, this is definitely the right one for you.
